HOMESCHOOLING BEGINS WITH HOME

A HOMESCHOOL MOM

Who Am I?

A homeschool mom can sometimes wonder “Who am I without parenting, my husband, homeschooling?”

Or she may say, “I need some ‘me’ time.”

Or “I just want my life back.”

If you are one such mom asking these types of questions and feeling quite overwhelmed with the task before you, I pray you are encouraged as you read on.

First and foremost, you are His daughter, His kingdom vessel, and right now you are serving His kingdom while serving your family.

Through embracing homeschooling wholeheartedly, He will teach you the depths of

  • laying down your life for others
  • bearing your cross as you follow Him
  • serving from a heart of love rather than from a heart of expectancy
  • dying to self
  • loving unconditionally
  • exercising God authority instead of carnal control
  • dwelling in reality
  • rejoicing instead of worrying

Homeschooling is one tool the Lord uses to prepare each homeschool mom for good works in His kingdom as allow Him in to our hearts. Creating margin in your life begins this process.

As you continue to obey and abide, you will learn from Him (Matthew 11:29).

Learning from Him and of Him through your daily circumstances and relationships will prepare you for your particular and individual future. He is molding your character to reflect Christ. He is homeschooling you as you homeschool your children.

As a homeschool mom who grows in these Christlike characteristics while hidden away in the fiery crucible of your home, you are being prepared to minister outside the home in the Church and in the world at large.

In a large house
there are articles not only
of gold and silver,
but also of wood and clay;
some are for noble purposes
and some for ignoble.

If a man cleanses himself
from the latter,
he will be an instrument
for noble purposes,
made holy,
useful to the Master
and prepared
to do any good work.

~2 Timothy 2:20-21

When the homeschooling journey gets rough and you feel as though you want to give up and get your life back, keep this vision in mind:

Your self-life
pales in comparison to
His abundant life.

As He prepares you and comes alongside you—really as He homeschools you—respond to Him with joy and thanksgiving. Let Him grow you as a member of His Body, the Church, and make you holy and useful to Him—prepared to do any good work.

Instead of seeing yourself as
simply a homeschool mom
losing your life
while teaching your children,

let Him renew your mind.

Catch the vision that you are a homeschooled mom
gaining His abundant life
while He teaches you.

Become an abundant life homeschooled mom!

I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.
~John 10:10
