OVERVIEWLive A Genuine Christian Life Before Your Children
Homeschooling that begins with home is as much a tool for your growth, Mom, as it is for your children’s. How can you live the genuine Christian life before your children? | Submit your whole being to the Lord. | As you embrace the daunting task of exercising Godly authority over your children’s lives, your whole person—spirit, soul, and body—will develop:- Spirit.
Because you want Christ’s love to flow through you to your children, you will grow spiritually if your spirit has been enlivened by the Holy Spirit through your believing in Christ’s finished work on your behalf;

- Soul: Will.
In order to grow spiritually, you must be willing and obedient. Therefore, submit the first aspect of your soul to the Lord—the Will; - Soul: Mind.
Because you want to teach your children about God’s Hand in all things, you will begin to educate yourself, which develops the second aspect of your soul—the mind; - Soul: Emotions.
Because you want to relate to your children in a healthy way, you will submit the third aspect of your soul to the Lord—your emotions; and - Body.
Because you want to develop your whole person, you will also submit your body to the Lord. As you submit your being—body, soul, and spirit—to the Lord, He will empower you to live a genuine Christian life before your children. Obey the Lord in your personal conduct toward your children. |

Your willingness and obedience will manifest in two ways as you begin embracing homeschooling your children: - communicating respectfully with them at all times; and
- serving them and teaching them to serve others, first within the home and then outside the home over time.
| Learn to listen rather than preach. |
In order to reach your children throughout their lives, remember in all your dealings with them that
- your children want to be understood and know you care; and
- your love for them—the source of which is God’s love alive in you—will draw them to you and ultimately to the Lord Himself.
Live out your spiritual growth process through practical application: - Evaluate your tendencies; i.e., Do I grumble or praise? Do I blame or forgive?
- Obey God in the condition you are already in. He loves you unconditionally and will transform your life as you willingly obey Him. You need not be perfect, just willing and obedient.
- Embrace sound doctrine and let the Holy Spirit change you.
- Believe what God speaks to your heart.
- Receive God’s abundant grace for your process.
- Wait on the Lord for revelation for your particular relationships and circumstances.
- Repent before your children when you sin against them.
Lay aside those things that so easily entangle (Hebrews 12:1). |
Lay aside every encumbrance. DO NOT: | | Instead, run with endurance. DO: | | Place unnecessary burdens on yourself. | | Accept that you will not make changes all at once. | | Dig up the past . | | Look forward (Philippians 3:13) | Focus on what is messed up in your life. | | Focus on the Lord. Thank Him for what He is doing in your life. | | | Sin against your family members. | | Believe the Holy Spirit will transform all your lives in His time. | | | Apply Scriptural truth within the context of cultural values. | | Apply truths personally. | |

The lovingkindness of God leads you to repentance, as His Spirit renews your mind and transforms your life while you walk with Him. Walk with your children in the same way—with the Lord’s lovingkindness flowing through you to them. Let His lovingkindness-in-you grow so that you can live a genuine Christian life—with an sincere and unfeigned faith—before your children. His Life- and Love-in-you will draw them to you and ultimately to Him. Lord, thank You for the woman reading this article. As you work in her life, may she experience Your unconditional love for her causing her to be willing and obedient. May she live a genuine Christian life before her children. Draw this family to You through Your work in her willing and obedient heart as you increase her faith and love.
