Christian Parenting Articles

Do you remember the day your first child entered into this world? You had waited so long to hold that baby in your arms, and your ideals were sky high as you envisioned what a marvelous mother you would be—nurturing and loving this unique child more than any mother ever had.

For months, you gladly changed diapers,
cuddled this adorable bundle of joy,
woke up in the middle of the night each time
baby breathed a little too heavily,
and dreamed of the glorious days
the two of you would have together.

But no one told you about (no screaming, please!)…

Parenting!

What a difference from mothering!

Mothering continues to be one of my greatest joys. As I have slowly grown in applying Godly wisdom to raising my children, I have learned to appreciate more fully the underlying purpose behind the challenge of raising a Godly seed: to move me closer to the heart of my Parent, Father-God.

The articles on this website are born from my own experiences as a daughter of the King, Who has given me the awesome and often overwhelming privilege of leading my five precious children to Him. In order for me to reach my children, He had to first reach me, His child. And He did! He drew me to His heart so I could learn to draw each of my children to my heart, revived with His Life and Love.

As you read these articles,
remember that my heart is to help you see that
Father-God wants to parent YOU!

Richest blessings as you journey together with your children
into the arms and heart of your Father.

Mom’s Growth While Raising Children

Links and Navigation Help

The following series of parenting articles takes a slightly different tack than most because it focuses on your (mom’s) development as a child of God.

As God parents you, you will grow in wisdom and be established in Love and Life. You will then become a kingdom vessel whom God can use to minister to His children who are also your children.

  1. Parenting Young Children
    My Child ~ His Child
See the parallels between your toddler’s discovery of your love for him and your discovery of God’s love for you. Establish grace-based rules to help children distinguish between right and wrong.

  2. Discipling Reasoning Children
Follow the Crowd? ~ Follow the Lord!
Grow in Godly character as you move from establishing rules that address behavior to training your children through outlining Standards of Conduct that will address their hearts… and yours!

  3. Releasing Steadfast Children
Stewarding My Child ~ Releasing His Child
The gradual process of releasing a child who has valued the tool of home and enjoyed the relationship-building with parents and siblings throughout his growing-up years is not burdensome or frightening for the parents or the child. In fact, it is joyous!

  4. Celebrating Established People of God
My Child Established ~ His Child Established
The conclusion of this parenting series summarizes how mom’s process of growth through parenting, discipling, and releasing her children has established them—and mom!—in the Lordship of Christ.

Personal Note

The following books provided me with practical parenting help:

As with all books, use discernment while reading and apply only one thing at a time as the Spirit leads you.
