Introduction

Who Is The Struggling Child?

Operating from a proactive mindset begins mom’s process of changing her home and heart from chaos to peace. As she allows God to influence her heart, she will gain more wisdom to influence her children’s hearts.

We moms can also influence our children to discern and think from a godly worldview through our daily interactions with our children at home:

  • present godly wisdom during Bible reading times as we get to know God’s character and the way He works in the lives of His children.

  • help our children discern a carnal worldview when it is being presented to them during family reading times, while watching educational videos, and when dealing with child training issues, among other times.

Example

My children enjoy watching educational videos from the library as part of their free time. One day they were watching a video on muscles which was informative, but the worldview presented was not Scriptural.

The reason that the young boy in the video wanted to make a robot that could move (with muscles and joints working properly) was so that he would not have to do any chores and he could play, play, play! He had dreams of playing while the robot did all the work.

When the video was over, I asked the children, "Did you see anything in that video that would not line up with the Word of God?"

I was surprised when my eight-year-old son said, "That boy didn't want to do chores."

We all discussed how work is something God gave us to enjoy and that the world has a perverse view of work as shown in this video. We talked about the work Adam and Eve did in the Bible before the Fall, and how we need to value and enjoy work, not try to get away from it.

As mom operates from a proactive mindset, she will begin to hold her children’s hearts, and they will be more receptive to receive from her. As mom abides, God will give her the wisdom at the moment for her particular circumstances.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell in you,
with all wisdom.
~Colossians 3:16
